Zarrow Author Award
The Anne V. Zarrow Award for Young Readers’ Literature gives formal recognition, on behalf of the Tulsa County community, to a nationally acclaimed author who has made a significant contribution to the field of literature for young adults. The award, presented by the Tulsa Library Trust, consists of a $7,500 cash prize and an engraved crystal book.
Mr. Henry’s Books
The Tulsa City-County Library hosts a teacher’s workshop through a grant from the Anne and Henry Zarrow Foundation. Each teacher is given copies of a book that was published by that year’s Zarrow Award winner for each student in their classroom. The teachers are given teaching guides to use the book in their curriculum. The teachers are also entered into a drawing for the author to visit their school classroom.
Young People’s Creative Writing Contest
A contest open to young writers between the ages of 10 to 18. All prizes are presented the evening of the Zarrow Award Author presentation and all winning prizes are provided by the Tulsa Library Trust.
