Summer Reading Program

The Summer Reading Program is the largest annual program that the Library offers. Each year between the months of May and August, more than 39,000 children and teens take part in the 10-week program aimed at keeping kids reading throughout the summer months and combating the dreaded “summer slide.” In Tulsa County, one in five children and teens participate in the Library’s Summer Reading Program. In 2017, more than 13,000 adults participated in the program, as well. The Tulsa Library Trust provides TCCL with all costs for the Summer Reading Program including the printing, prizes, promotional materials, uniforms, food, and performers. In 2017, The Raymond and Bessie Kravis Foundation generously helped the Trust to provide this program.
